About Ati Sedgwick

Born and raised in Europe. An abstract expressionist painter, living in the USA with a studio outside of NYC. Had been recently chosen as one of the artists of the Saatchi Featured Collection: " New York, NY, 20 Emerging Artists From The Big Apple" (October 2015).

She doesn't copy nature and its inhabitants; they are perfect the way they are. Rather she is seeking to give her paintings their own reality, to have them stand alone and speak for themselves according to each viewers own understanding. She prefers to work spontaneously and unrehearsed, taking chances with her work. This for her is the rawest and purest form of expression. Besides having exhibited in galleries and art spaces her paintings can be found in private and corporate collections around the world.
